MACRO-SYNTHETIC FIBER MATERIALS

BarChip 48 is the recent innovative product of EPC, derived from the research program “Fibers of the Future”. In particular, BarChip 48 fiber materials, designed for the site coating concretes, has a never-before-seen performance. It is convenient for 35 Mpa or lower concretes 

 

BarChip Structural Macro Synthetic Fiber Reinforcement has CE Fiber Certificate and is consistent with the European Standards EN- 14889 and ASTM - C1116. .

Advantages

  • Higher flexural toughness and young’s modulus procure the highest performance among the fiber reinforcements (according to BS EN 14889-2 Standard, the flexural toughness is recommended to be >500 MPa). 
  • As the BarChip Macrosynthetic Fiber Reinforcements are applied in a mixture with the concrete, no workmanship cost arises. 
  • It has the advantage of lower dose of energy absorption performance (joule) and provides lower cost advantages compared to its competitors. 
  • It has flexural toughness equivalent to the steel. 
  • It prevents early contraction, plastic contraction and corner cracks on industrial floorings. 
  • As it constitutes much more ductile structure in the BarChip Concrete in the filled lands, cracks, possibly caused in the concrete by steel mash in case of possible settlement, are not noticed. 
  • It does not suffer corrosion due to its synthetic structure. 
  • It is proven by tests that BarChip fibers do not lose their resistance in alkali environments for 10 years.  
  • It lessens abrasion in pumps and hoses. 
  • The BarChip fibers work in 3D manner and meet the load in each direction. As it disperses around homogenously, it would become fiber reinforcement in the places much closer to the surface. Therefore, the fibers increase the impact resistance of the concrete. 
  • They may be added to the aggregate bands or poured into trans-mixer and facilitate dosing thanks to its water-soluble packed form. 
  • It speeds up the concrete slab production at the rate of 20-25%

     

  • It has long term durability compared to the steel reinforcements and steel fibers (Whereas the BarChip Synthetic Fiber loses energy absorption of 0.2% after one year, this rate is determined as average 45% in the steel fibers). (Please see Long Term Durability Test).
  • It provides logistics and implementation convenience thanks to insulated packaging and 2.5 packed forms.
